About Us

The Chaffey Joint Union High School District serves the communities of Ontario, Montclair, Rancho Cucamonga, and portions of Fontana, Upland, Chino, and Mount Baldy. With over 25,000 students, the District is the fourth largest high school district in California. It has eight comprehensive high schools, a continuation high school, an online high school, a community day school, an adult school, and alternative programs. The District offers a wide variety of instructional options that provide a quality education for each student, every day. The District's well-prepared, dedicated, and highly qualified teachers and support personnel are second to none.

The Chaffey Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees are steadfast in the belief that "Nothing is more important than student learning and their achievement."

Our daily purpose encompasses our commitment:
"To provide student learning, and ultimately their achievement, of the prescribed curriculum that takes place in the classroom under the direction of the teacher." The Chaffey District supports this daily act. We realize that our efforts uniquely influence the future of our community and of this nation, and we are passionate about doing whatever it takes to prepare students to be successful and contributing citizens of the 21st century.

The Chaffey District has provided a quality education for high school students in the area since 1911. As the District continues to grow and progress, we are poised to meet the challenge of providing the finest quality education possible for every student.

Principal's Message

Portrait of Lino Gomez
Montclair High School Cavaliers,

I hope you had a restful and enjoyable Thanksgiving Break. Thank you for all that you do for our school and community — your dedication continues to make Montclair High School the best place to learn, grow, and thrive.

We are now in the home stretch of the first semester, with finals less than two weeks away! Students, as winter break approaches, stay focused and give your best effort to finish strong academically. Take time each day to review notes, complete assignments, and prepare for your exams. Remember, every bit of effort counts!

Parents, please take a moment to review your student’s progress report and use that information to reflect on their academic growth. Continue to monitor Canvas and reach out to teachers or counselors if you have any questions or concerns. Working together, we can help every student achieve success.

Tutoring support is available! Students can take advantage of before and after school tutoring in the library and our two remaining Saturday School sessions on December 6 and December 13. These are great opportunities to strengthen understanding and improve grades before finals.

As we emphasize our Four A’s — Academics, Activities, Arts, and Athletics — let’s remember that success at Montclair means more than just grades:

          • In Academics, finish strong by preparing for finals and staying organized.
          • In Activities, continue to show leadership, spirit, and teamwork in every event you participate in.
          • In the Arts, keep sharing your creativity and talent — your performances and projects inspire our campus.
          • In Athletics, compete with heart, represent our school with pride, and finish the season strong.

Parents, please continue to help your students by reviewing their homework, checking attendance, and ensuring they are in class every day, every period.

Finals will take place Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, December 17–19. Students should begin preparing now by reviewing key content, studying consistently, and seeking help where needed.
