Dear Montclair High School Families,
We are approaching the end of the school year! The fourth and final quarter involves a lot of important events and activities that will keep us busy. We have made it to this point, and our students have successfully navigated through these eventful times. We encourage all students to continue pushing through and to excel in both their academics and extracurricular activities. We have faith in our Cavaliers!
Springtime brings up the important annual statewide assessments. Students who are designated as English Learners have already taken the ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessments for California). Our Juniors will take the CAASPP (California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress), and our Seniors will take the CAST (California Science Test). Finally, students enrolled in AP classes will be taking the AP Exams beginning in May. The hard work they have put in throughout the year and the strong instruction they have received in the classrooms will be reflected in these meaningful academic measures.
Here are the dates:
- ELPAC (EL Students): February 18 - 25, 2025
- CAST (12th Grade): March 18 - 20, 2025
- CAASPP (11th Grade): April 1 - 14, 2025
- AP Exams (10th - 12th Grade): May 5 - 16, 2025
There are also happenings taking place outside of academics that we would like to highlight. Spring sports are underway, and our Track and Field, Swim, Softball, Baseball, Golf, Boys Tennis, and Boys Volleyball teams are competing hard in their respective areas. Our Drama production of Frozen (March 7, 8, 14, 15) promises to be a great show. Prom is also on the horizon (April 5), with our ASB planning for this great event. As always, we encourage our students to prioritize their time so that they can strike a strong balance between academics and extracurricular activities. Our teachers are here to provide support, with our MAST Tutoring and CAP Saturday school available for our students as well.
Go, Cavs!
